Summer is here and it is a good time to get the kids outside and capture your family with some nice portraits. Everything is beautiful green and the trees are finally green. Take advantage of this beautiful backdrop nature provides.
Location
Find a location with loads of green, lake or pond. It always makes you pop even more. Try to find a location which not that local, so kids can explore a little bit, find places that they enjoy and keep their interest, and take advantage of these moments. Choosing a spacious location also helps to keep random people from getting in your photos because you can move to the less crowded spots.
Clothing
Choose your clothing carefully, and always make sure everybody's clothing and shoes are comfortable and attractive. Have all family members matching outfits, you don't want to see a picture where you are in an elegant suit and the kids in track suit.
Rest
Highly recommend that you come to the photoshoot well rested. Kids and babies had they nap or bedtime. Don't show up to a photoshoot on an empty stomach. Bring plenty of drink/water.
Timing
Timing is very important, parents are tend to rush around before an event, photoshoots are not exception :) Leave plenty of time for showers, baths, dressing, and grooming. When a family shows up to a family photo session rushed and disorganized, it sets the tone for a rushed and disorganized session. Give yourself extra time so that you are ready before it’s time to head out that door.
Participation
Participation is not just for kids! Have some fun on the photoshoot, trust me it will make a huge difference when you will have fun, the pictures will speak for its self. You don't need the good old: say CHEESE! All you need is fun, giggles, laugh, snuggle, kisses.
Enjoy
All in all, just enjoy yourself, when the photographer say something there is a reason behind, mainly to get the best result. Just be in the moment.
